Music, rhythm, sound, and movement impact our children from a very young age. Most children develop a love of dance and music begins before they can even talk!

LCDC is excited to announce that we will be accepting new pre-school dancers into our highly popular “Once Upon a Ballet” program. Spots are limited so first in best dressed!

A fun and imaginative ballet curriculum designed specifically for pre-schoolers.

Once Upon A Ballet is a unique, child-centred approach to teaching dance that is based strongly in child development research. We meet our littlest dancers in their world—a world filled with stories, magic and make-believe.

The perfect activity to help your child develop socially, academically and physically.

When children experience the magic of dance early in the developmental years, they build a foundation of fundamental skills that carry them through life. Our focus in all our preschool classes to encourage a love of music and movement as well as basic dance technique to start them on their dance journey.

Brilliant teachers who are knowledgeable about their craft as well as being sensitive to children’s needs. Also a very well organised dance school with excellent communication to parents.

My daughter has been attending since she was 3 years old and is now about to turn 8. It is a fantastic school with just the right balance of making it super fun for the kids, but teaching discipline, respect and deportment. My daughter and I have both made great friends here and it is a wonderful community. I highly recommend this school!

Love the values that are instilled in the kids and the fun, safe and healthy environment they get to dance in. So many friends made and such a great network of people - for both kids and parents.....

Did you know ballet provides more benefits to children than just joy of movement?

Here are six simple benefits of pre-ballet classes for young children:

  • 1

    Imaginative

Ballet classes will stretch a child’s imagination as they dance the roles of different characters in ballet class.

  • 2

    Physical Development

Ballet keeps children moving, which is important and beneficial to the growth and development of their bodies.

  • 3

    Stress Relief

Yes, even young children can be stressed. Dance boosts endorphins and has a meditative quality. It’s even been called “moving meditation”!

  • 4

    Brain Boosting

Dancing doesn’t just exercise the body; it also exercises the brain! And in ballet class, we also listen to classical music, also boosting brainpower.

  • 5

    Safe Learning

Ensure a safe learning and teaching environment that complies with national safe dance practices.

  • 6

    It’s fun!

Children get to act out roles as they are dancing. Who doesn’t want to be a fairy or a princess?
